Dr. Aung Myint Thang
National Director of LPM Myanmar
I was born and raised in a Christian family.
My father was a pastor in the Evangelical Free Church of Myanmar.
That was how I came to know Jesus since my childhood.
However it was at the age of my 18 that I completely surrendered to Him and became His child through an evangelist’s crusade.
Since then I began to preach the word of God in my surrounding villages as a lay evangelist.
After preaching as a lay evangelist for two years, I began to take theological courses in different seminaries in three different nations. By 2022 I completed Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, Master of Sacred Theology and Doctor of Religious Education.
Since 2003 I started a seminary called Yangon Graduate School of Theology initially offering master of divinity in Yangon, Myanmar.
Two years later we also added bachelor of theology program. Currently we have 58 students pursuing their respective courses of study at YGST.
At the same time we also plant churches among the Buddhists. By the help of God we have churches in Yangon and Nephydaw.
Our vision is to train laymen in churches so that churches may better fulfill the great commission of Jesus.
